Make An Adorable V-Day Basket For Your Little One!

Happy almost Valentine’s Day everyone!
Growing up, Valentine’s Day was always one of my favorite holidays! My mom would make me and each of my sister’s special baskets filled with candy and goodies, and it was something I looked forward to all year! Now that I have my own daughter, I’m excited to keep the tradition going, so I am going to make her an extra-sweet basket that she enjoys and remembers, and that shows her how much I love her. Because that’s what Valentine’s Day is all about, right?

It’s fun to choose a theme to give your basket a twist! Olive is obsessed with summer. It’s her favorite time of year! She keeps asking when we can go swimming and play outside, so I decided to bring the summer to February and make her a “Beach Lovers Basket!”

You can watch the video HERE!

First up, you can use either a recycled Easter basket or a fun sand pail as your vessel!

Next, I filled with newspaper, then topped with crinkled red and white paper decorative paper for a pretty base. Then I went to the dollar store and found fun summery trinkets and toys like blow bubbles, sunglasses, and a beach sand shovel! You can add shell stickers, or even flip flops, a towel or hat, the skies the limit!

Lastly, I made a S’more’s Kit (which is one of our favorite things to do in summer) and added other fun treats like these heart shaped Jolly Rancher lollipops. I then scattered about cute little kisses, and assorted chocolates, for Valentine’s Day. Hershey’s has this fun assortment of their most popular chocolates in heart shapes as well as hearts filled with creamy milk chocolate, cookies and crème and my favorite, caramel. I finished it off by placing a big chocolate heart in the center of the basket. Did I mention the only thing Olive loves more than summer… is chocolate? ;)

On the chocolate heart I wrote, “Olive, my heart melts for you! Love, Mommy.”

Awww! Hopefully, you enjoyed these ideas! What do you have planned for your little one this Valentines Day? Let me know, and please share some of your own ideas in the comments section below!
